First Bossier Church Recovery Update
December 17, 2018
First Bossier Family,
Being able to gather Sunday morning in our Worship Center after all we’ve gone through this past week was such a blessing! Yesterday we were able to thank Firefighters and First Responders for their courage and outstanding efforts for our campus. We had several guests with us. Among them our Bossier City Mayor Lo Walker and Congressman Ralph Abraham. The proclamations that Congressman Mike Johnson and State Rep. Raymond Crews offered were timely and encouraging.
I shared this with our church: We have a generational moment. How we respond the first 7 days and these next 7 months will determine the tone, vision, and impact of this ministry for decades. This is why First Bossier, we must be committed to seeking the Lord, standing together, and dreaming big for the glory of God.
And your response has been overwhelming. Your prayers and support have been amazing. Our staff team thanks you! We are pressing forward!
In one demonstration of our church mobilizing for service we saw over 300 ladies stay after the worship service to sign up and be a part of First Women Strong, an organized effort to help with any details in recovery.
Specifically this week we have ladies signed up and taking food and sharing our thanks with Fire Stations throughout Bossier and Shreveport. Pretty awesome!
There will be many ways people can serve and help. As details and opportunities become clearer we will be sharing all of these. One way everyone can help is by praying together. The following Prayer guide was handed out yesterday:
1. Pray for the health of our staff and families.
2. Pray for unity as we walk this road of restoration together.
3. Pray for positive attitudes.
4. Pray for God’s wisdom in every detail.
5. Pray for the right off-campus venue for Connect Classes on Sundays and Journey classes on Wednesdays.
6. Pray for every detail from tiny to huge.
7. Pray for safety of all workers that will be on our campus.
8. Pray for weather for construction.
9. Pray for insurance and construction companies to be honest and fair, as well as swift when needed.
10. Pray that God is glorified in every detail – large and small.
As we look forward to the coming weeks I want to remind you of our schedule:
