The Bible teaches us to baptize every person who trusts Christ (Matt. 28:19).  Therefore, the second step to becoming a member at FBB is to be baptized.  At FBB, we baptize every Sunday morning.

FAQ

What if I was baptized as an infant?  We thank God for faithful parents who seek to lead their children to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.  Being baptized as an infant is something you can treasure for the rest of your life because you had parents who were committing you to the church community and vowing to God to raise you in a Christian home.  At FBB, we have baby dedication where we have the parents and children stand in front of the congregation publically dedicating their child, home and life to the Lord.  They are committing to raise their children in a Christian home and in Christian community.  Infant baptism and our baby dedication are very similar in purpose and meaning.  The reason why we do not baptize infants is because we believe baptism is something that symbolizes salvation (death, burial and resurrection to new life in Christ) and identification with Jesus Christ.  Therefore, we only baptize and accept baptisms based upon a profession of faith from an individual.  Since baptism is to follow salvation (symbolizing what has happened in our hearts), we ask that baptism be by emersion and after a profession of faith has been made.

What if I was baptized by emersion in another denomination?  FBB accepts all baptisms that are by emersion and after a profession of faith has been made.  If you were saved and baptized by emersion in another denomination, you would join FBB by “statement”.  That means you are joining us by your confession that you were saved and baptized by emersion.
