The question we now ask is, “Given
your purpose, how do you plan to accomplish this?”
Let’s take the 5 purposes and see how we currently engage
in those areas.

 |

W
e plan to reach the
Shreveport/Bossier area through many avenues:
- Investment and invitation of every member.
We encourage every member to invest in the lives and community
around them for the good of others and for God’s
glory.
- Community events. We provide tons
of events where we invite the community to join us in
lot’s of different activities. Some of those
events are as follows...
|
|
- Sunday services. Of course, our services are meant to be a place where the people of God worship together while at the same time share the good news of Jesus Christ.
- Summer Survivor. Our VBS. A great place for the community to bring their kids and here about Jesus.
- Fall fest – Usually occurs around Halloween. A huge Celebration of games and candy and fun for the whole community.
- Easter – we always provide lot’s of avenues every Easter to encourage the community to come.
- Smaller scale events. All year long, there are lot’s of smaller events among the different areas of FB where the community is invited and encouraged to see who we are and how they can get involved

 |

We plan to connect every person to FB through several
avenues:
- Connection classes – these are our Sunday morning classes where we teach the Bible and enjoy fellowship with others.
- Growth Groups – these groups are provided as a place where people can live life together and encourage one another.
- Serving – there are lot’s of ways people can serve on Sunday mornings and throughout the week here at FB. In serving, you develop relationships with others in ways that you probably couldn’t in other avenues. Serving in Tiny Town, Children’s area, students and other ways is a great way to get plugged into FB

We plan to help other GROW Spiritually through several avenues:
- Shift Classes – this is 4, one hour classes (offered on Sunday mornings) that introduce people to what it means to be a disciple of Christ. Class 1 – about membership to a local church. Class 2 – About Spiritual disciplines and how we grow spiritually. Class 3 – about Ministry and Spiritual gifts as well as how to use those gifts in the church. Class 4 – about sharing your story with others and investing and impacting others lives with the good news.
- Connection classes – not only do you connect with others in a Connection class, you study the Bible with other Christians and grow together.
- Growth Groups – Spiritual Growth happens best when you are growing with others and talking about the real issues of life and struggles with others while you pray for and encourage one another.

We plan to encourage everyone to serve others through different
ways.
- Every Christian is called to be a “servant”
in their world. So, we encourage all members to
always carry a “servant attitude” in everything
they do in life.
- We provide lot’s of avenues for people
to serve others in our church. People can serve
on Sunday mornings by greeting, being an usher, helping
with the media team, Tiny Town, children’s ministry,
students, get involved in a role in their Connection class,
sing in the choir, etc. etc. There are also lot’s
of ways to serve during the week.
